The development of more resistant, compatible and aesthetic ceramic materials have increased the usage of zirconia implants in modern Implantology. The aim of this study was to observe the behavior of 2-piece yttria-stabilized polycrystalline tetragonal zirconia (Y-TZP) implants loaded immediately regarding the quality of peri-implant tissues and their short-term maintenance through clinical and radiographic examinations. Zirconia (Y-TZP) implants were used in this clinical case report where the two upper central incisors have been extracted and immediately replaced by 2-piece ceramic implants (Zi-Neodent). Primary stability of 32N was achieved in both implants, which made the use of immediate loading technique possible, and three months after this procedure, the final prosthetic restorations in zirconia and porcelain were installed. The gap created between the implants and the buccal bone plate was filled with freeze-dried bovine bone (Cerabone, Straumann). X-Rays and control tomography (CT SCAN) were performed nine months after surgery, and improvement of bone tissue and maintenance around the implants was noted. It was observed clinically that peri-implant tissues remained healthy. It was concluded that zirconia implants are a viable alternative to titanium implants in the short term in aesthetic areas, when installed and loaded immediately, presenting good quality and maintenance of peri-implant tissues.
